I remember being in High School there were times when I wished I could start all over again. Chances are you have probably wanted to do the same for some reason or another. The thought of starting over can be refreshing, because it promises us a new beginning and a better outcome. For those of us who have made too many mistakes, or who are just sick and tired of who people think we are this can be a huge goal. If this is you don’t worry, you aren’t alone. We all at one point or another (in and out of high school) have to pick ourselves up and start over again. Sometimes tragedy in our lives like the death of a loved one causes us to re-evaluate everything, other times injuries, failures, and rejections can leave us wanting to start from scratch. And then there are those of us who haven’t had anything crazy happen to us in our lives, but even so we would jump at the opportunity to start over again.
If you guys have ever seen ‘The New Guy’ then you know exactly what I am talking about. Its a story about a teen in hs who’s a total loser. So what does he do? He goes to jail to get toughened up by a bunch of criminals then changes to a new high school where he is the coolest thing that ever hit the block.
Apart fromt the fact that its hollywood, how many of you would jump for a chance to start over in high school? How many would do anything to walk through the halls and not be seen as the loser, loner, geek, weakling, gossip, etc… How many would like to walk down the halls and instead of ppl making fun, have them say hello instead, smile, or wave at least! Let me let you in on a little secret (even the anti socials secretly wish they had more friends)
Why? Because that’s how we are! Regardless of what you believe, be it religion, atheism, or just plain nothing you cannot deny that a life without love is lame and empty. We all need and want friends! Unfortunately for some of us, it seems our only hope of having friends is to start over from scratch. But don’t get discouraged! You may not be able to go to prison and have a bunch of thugs teach you how to “be cool” but you can still start over.
